Muizenberg's long, gently shelving beach is known as one of the friendliest places in the Cape to learn to surf. The waves here tend to be softer and more forgiving than on the Atlantic side, and the water is usually a little warmer.
This two-hour lesson covers beach basics, paddling and standing up, followed by plenty of time in the water with your instructor nearby. Soft-top boards and wetsuits are provided.
Indicative timings — a real operator would confirm the plan for your date.
