Lion's Head is Cape Town's favourite hike for good reason: a spiralling path that circles the peak, revealing the Atlantic, Camps Bay, Robben Island and Table Mountain in turn as you climb.
Starting before dawn with headlamps, we pace the ascent to reach the upper slopes as the first light hits the city. The final section includes short chain-and-ladder scrambles; your guide will show you an alternative path around them if you'd prefer to skip them.
Indicative timings — a real operator would confirm the plan for your date.
